Our UX approach

We research a product’s place in the market,  gather insights on customers and their pain points. We then generate a variety of innovative solutions to test and validate to ensure an excellent user experience.

Our proven UX processes help you discover the answers to three key questions:

  • Do customers want this?
  • Can we make this?
  • Is it viable?

David Bacon, Director of Design

“We believe that design is driven by the needs of its users. Our job is to alleviate their pain points, enhance their motivations, and streamline their experience wherever possible.

All our design solutions are researched, tested and validated, ensuring that it’s desirable, viable and feasible.”

Our Programs

UEQ Usability Testing

Usability testing involves observing real world customers using a product (interface or prototype) to complete common tasks. Cinq’s approach allows for quick domain knowledge ramp up, recruitment of the right target customers, and academic-level rigour in conducting one on one customer research and product testing.

The UEQ is a tool for user-driven assessment of software quality and usability. It is a very efficient method to assess the user experience on a holistic level based on goal oriented and non-goal oriented facets.

  • Assess product usability on a holistic level
  • Benchmark product or system usability against over 246 other products
  • Compare different versions of product or system usability performance
  • Used to test competitor products to provide direct comparison
  • When paired with user interviews and usability test sessions greater insights can be gathered on how a product benchmark could be improved in certain variables.

4-week Design Thinking Sprint

CI&T’s Design Thinking Sprint approach allows traditional human-centred design methodologies to be applied in a pragmatic manner.Activities are time boxed to allow our clients to have outcomes quickly within four weeks.

Its main purpose is to maximise the chance of building a product or service that customers will want to use. It is an intense effort conducted by a small team. The outcomes will set the direction for a product or service.

Useful when

  • There is a customer or business problem, or opportunity to solve, or hypothesis to answer.
  • There is uncertainty or doubt around a product (it’s desirability, feasibility or viability)or features.
  • There is some understanding of the potential target market.

Isn’t useful when

  • Product or solution is well defined
  • Scope is too broad! (e.g. I want an app)
  • Scope is too narrow! (e.g. I need to add a button to my app)

The idea is well committed or pivoting is not a viable option

Heuristic evaluation

A Heuristic Evaluation (also known as Heuristic Review or Usability Review) is an inspection method for digital products that helps to identify usability problems in the user interface design. It involves our consultants examining the interface and judging its compliance with recognised usability principles.

A heuristic review involves having a small set of evaluators examine the interface and judge its compliance with recognised usability principles (the "heuristics").

Increase conversion

through understanding which areas of the product require redesign or improvement.
