This past week, our team travelled to Barcelona to check out the cutting-edge world of Mobile World Congress 2024. Here are four key takeaways from Solange Sobral, Karina Morari Germine and Chris Sheldon.

1. A sea of innovation, but a need for navigation: The array of new technologies presented was fascinating. This always brings a challenge for businesses: deciphering which solutions offer real value and how to integrate them effectively. That’s where a trusted partner like CI&T comes in, helping you find solutions that truly move the needle.

2. 6G? It’s coming faster than you think: While 5G adoption is still settling in, brands are already gearing up for 6G, which promises even faster speeds and a future of connected everything.

3. AI: Collaborator, not Terminator: The narrative around AI has shifted. Most of the AI chatter revolved around harnessing AI’s power to collaborate with humans, taking efficiency and innovation to a whole new level.

4. VR/AR: A pause for reflection: VR/AR presence at MWC was noticeably quieter this year than previously, suggesting the technology's adoption might be slower than anticipated. While AI seems to be taking centre stage for now, this serves as a valuable reminder for all tech providers: It’s crucial to prioritise users’ needs and focus on solving real problems, not just jumping on the latest trends.
