Unlocking Social Impact through Data Integration

How CI&T bridged the digital divide for a social housing association, unifying systems and redirecting value back into the community.

The Challenge

Breaking the
System Silos

Valleys to Coast (V2C) manages a lifeline of 6,000 properties for 18,000 residents across Wales. However, a fragmented technical landscape stalled their mission. With core systems living in silos, disconnected data created critical operational bottlenecks.

● The Vacancy Gap: When a tenant moved out, repair systems weren't alerted in real-time. This led to "void" properties sitting empty for weeks while families waited on housing lists.

● The Manual Tax: Disconnected systems required manual emails and duplicate data entry, draining capacity meant for resident support.

● Communication Gaps: Resident updates failed to carry across platforms, creating delays, missing tasks and reducing the time available for direct resident support.

The Solution

A Future-Proof Foundation

V2C needed more than a quick fix; they needed a technical revolution. CI&T designed a robust, scalable integration platform to serve as the organisation’s "single source of truth."

Bridging the Gap:

We built a Proof of Concept (POC) to synchronise legacy systems. Now, when data changes in one system, it reflects across the entire organisation instantly.

Practical Results

We understood the unique needs of a social organisation and delivered a modern architecture with agility. This platform gives V2C total ownership of their data, freeing them from the rigid roadmaps of third-party vendors.

The Impact

Efficiency with a Human Heart

Automating data flows unlocked immediate organisational capacity. V2C now repairs and re-occupies homes faster, getting families into safe housing sooner.

This isn't just about technical integration; it’s about human outcomes. Every hour saved on administrative rework is an "efficiency dividend" redirected back into the community, allowing teams to provide the immediate support residents deserve.

"CI&T has opened the gates for us to save enormous amounts of time and money. It has unlocked a huge amount of potential capacity that wasn’t there before."
