A Better Tomorrow for All of Them

Throughout International Women’s Month, we highlighted different initiatives celebrating the wonderful women in our lives and marked the continued fight for gender equality and equity.  Our ultimate goals are to increase women’s representation in leadership, promote gender equity and foster a safe workplace where women’s voices thrive.

There is a long way to go, especially in tech, but we at CI&T are taking action. This is a recap of what we did around the world to honor women and continue our commitment to building an equitable workplace.

Brazil

Tech Voices: Women Edition 2023 was a series of women’s experiences, sharing trials, tribulations and success in technology, in leadership and in their careers. The free online event was accessible in sign language and aimed to provide insight for the next generation of women in tech.

"I am honored to be part of this incredible initiative! It was a great experience. Tech Voices gives our people a voice and the ability to impact the external community. I leave with a warm heart, as I believe we have achieved our goal! Much gratitude to all the people involved who made this happen."
Monica Soares, Diversity & Inclusion Analyst.

Another initiative in March was “CI&T to All of Them.” It was  an internal series that included workshops and live events focused on the female experience. Themes spanned topics like motherhood while maintaining a career to womanhood. These types of events create camaraderie through the shared female experiences and promote learning from each other.

Japan and Australia

CI&T in Japan adopted the theme "Self-Love" for International Women's Day 2023. They held a special session for women in the office so that each one could share how they show self care and love to themselves. The road to equity and inclusion is long and rocky, but the event reminded the women to love themselves despite all odds.

"I like to have fresh flowers at home. They always make me feel happy and renewed, and I like to take care of them. It was great to share this with the team during our small International Women's Day event and learn from each other about small actions and routines to take care of ourselves. We deserve the time and effort!" Yifeng Han, Business Analyst, CI&T Japan

In the Australia office, the team celebrated International Women's Day with a special lunch and shared facts and experiences that reinforced the importance of building a better tomorrow for all women.

"The importance of this day is to acknowledge just how far women have come and all the success and achievements of women, as well as a reminder to continue ensuring we remain focused to continue progressing towards an equitable society." Kim Vittorio, Head of People Experience.

United States and Canada

In North America, a training seminar focused on how to be an ally to women and a game “Killing me Softly”  demonstrated how it feels to suffer microaggressions and acculturative stress day after day.

"Cultivating a workplace where women feel supported, valued, and trusted is essential at CI&T. We have recognized that this is not just about our ERG meetings, celebratory programming, or annual honors, but instead a daily commitment we make to promoting equity for women through a number of practices including educational workshops, trainings, and formal audits." Brittany Bronson, ESG Partner.

Portugal and the United Kingdom

Throughout March, women from different CI&T teams in Europe shared inclusion highlights, discussing how they bring it into their everyday lives.

"It is important to recognize and address the unique societal and cultural challenges women constantly face, such as gender-based violence, harassment, and discrimination. Designers can work to create experiences that empower women and help them feel safe and supported."
Inez Torre, Lead Designer

In CI&T Portugal's office, March was marked by “Connecting Women Portugal,” with debates and live sessions for women to share their experiences and achievements while brainstorming ideas to advance towards a more equitable future.

"We talked, shared, laughed, and realized we could do more. We have an ongoing (very embryonic) project/presentation about gender equality in schools and the workplace that we will share with our children and schools. It is essential to celebrate not only March 8 but every day. Moving towards equality in all areas of society should be a moment of reflection." Eunice Lavrador, Executive Partner.

We were born as a technology company, and for more than 20 years, we have been unlocking the potential of business transformation. But above all, we also understand our role in a much more significant change: that of society. We believe in the importance of building a better tomorrow for all women:
