Solange Sobral's mission

For more than 26 years, Solange Sobral has built more than a career in the technology field; she has been constructing a learning journey. Currently occupying the position of Partner, EVP of CI&T EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), she understands that she also plays a social role in a sector in which black people, women and mothers, the groups she represents, are the minority in positions of leadership in organizations.

Solange joined CI&T as a software developer shortly after completing her undergraduate and master's degrees in computer science. Her professional trajectory is intrinsically linked to the company, which had only five employees when Solange joined in 1996. Along the way, she actively worked on designing CI&T's leadership model while building her own profile as a leader.

Solange tells how she decided to do computing when she was 9 years old. This was her choice since she didn't have many examples to follow then, either from family or those close to her. Even living in a small town in the countryside, with little access to large universities or good schools, she understood early on that her studies and efforts would be the most significant levers in the search for growth opportunities. After finishing college, she went on to do a master's degree and, in the last year, she joined CI&T. Step by step, she took on more responsibilities and leadership positions, managing teams, projects, and the company's business, always working very closely with clients and the team. Creating her growth opportunities, constantly seeking to overcome challenges - often stepping out of her comfort zone - and not accepting "it's not possible", were characteristics always present in her growth journey. 

Nowadays, Solange's mission at CI&T is an expansion in Europe, involving understanding the transformational challenges our clients face and their prospects in that region and adapting and delivering what we offer. Our value proposition generates impact for these clients' businesses and end consumers. Her challenges include sustainable growth of CI&T's business in the European market and creating a healthy and engaging environment for our employees, in line with ESG principles.

Mother of three children, when she looks back on her career path, her mission includes constructing a legacy with more humanized corporate environments, with diversity and inclusion as a relevant factor for business and social success, generating more equal opportunities for groups with low representation within companies.
